Dr. Minson

Chris enjoys outdoor activities of every kind. Previously a high-level competitive cyclist and triathlete, you can often find him trying to load as much adventure equipment on his bike as possible. He is an avid mountaineer, rafter/kayaker, and skier. Chris is also an ambassador for Hyperlite Mountain Gear.

2016 | Brett Ely prepares for her fourth Olympic Trials

PhD student and competitive marathoner Brett Ely somehow manages to perform at a high level in both her graduate studies and her professional running career. 2015 | Minson tackles Mt. Rainier’s hidden route

Dr. Minson recently returned from a ski/climbing trip around Mt. Rainier on the “High Orbit Route”, in which they circumnavigating Mt. Rainier in Washington, crossing 17 glaciers and gaining/losing 15,000 ft of elevation in under 6 days. Read more about his journey here.

2014 | White-water rafting on the Zambezi

We recently took a trip to Africa to attend the 2014 International Symposium on the Physiology & Pharmacology of Temperature Regulation, held at Kruger National Park in South Africa. After the conference, we took a side trip to Livingstone, Zambia, the site of the historic Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River. Here are some pictures of us taking a trip down “the wildest rapids in the world.” Special thanks to Safari Par Excellence.
